Don’t let the number of squares intimidate you. It only means you’ll feel extra proud with the finished result!

Proud Peacock yarn palette
Here are some cool and refreshing colors to warm up a winter’s night. Proud Peacock is made of Caron Simply Soft in Lemon Meringue, Limelight, Blue Mint, Kelly Green and Ocean. Of course, you don’t need to use these particular yarns to achieve this palette; just select the nearest cool hues from your favorite yarns.
Guaranteed…
Modular Layout #2279
Shown here at queen size, which will be pretty heavy in worsted weight, but of course it can be made smaller.
Crochet Edge #648
Make a pleasant scalloped edge in just two rounds.
Tropical Bird yarn palette
These colors just make me smile. Tropical Bird is composed of Willow Wash in Wild Lime, Daffodil, Azalea, Cooked Quince and Red Apple. You don’t need to use these specific yarns, of course; simply select similar colors in your favorite yarns and soon enough, you’ll be smiling, too.
A real achievement…
Modular Layout #1646
Squint a little, and you’ll see the chevrons emerge.
Tigerstripe —crochet square pattern
So happy to have been invited to share this one with the Ravelry Block A Month Crochet-A-Long (BamCAL) group as the featured 6″ square for May 2022. (And big thanks to my testers: Jilly, Jacqui and Lynne!) Tigerstripe is designed for only two colors, but those colors could be high contrast or low, and choices like that will make a lot of difference in the final appearance. (Or one could cut loose and use 5 or 6 colors —that would be some wild tiger!)
This pattern is written in US terms.
Skill level for this square is INTERMEDIATE.
The PDF (downloadable from Ravelry) also contains a chart.

Golden Autumn yarn palette
It’s spring in the northern hemisphere, but you know, making an afghan can take some time. It’ll be autumn before you know it! (( ::/me ducks the flying hooks and skeins of yarn being thrown:: ))
